Map of great places to walk

Well, the map has loads of place markers on it and many of these have Footpath app route links in their info. These are routes that I have come up over the years while exploring, and I have plotted them out on the app and made them shareable. You can just click on the Footpath route URL to load that walk, and follow the line on the map.

Self-guided walks

The self-guided walks pages house routes with step-by-step directions and bits of trivia about where you’re walking.

I am building these pages over time, returning to old haunts and walking routes I haven’t done in a while and making a point of really paying attention to the locations/points of interest to help you find your way.

These are things I usually take for granted as, when I know where I’m going, I often wander along on autopilot without really thinking or properly noticing my surroundings. I’ve realised that’s actually a real shame and so these walks are providing me with wonderful exercises in mindfulness. I am really enjoying re-experiencing these lovely locations.

I’ll continue to add pages throughout the year so check back regularly for new content.

Of course, most of the places on the map/in the self-guided walk pages have plenty of footpaths to just have fun exploring, but sometimes it is just nice to have a route to follow that someone else has checked out for you and not have to think about getting lost or worry about stiles and the like.
